Stephanos in haute couture Omotesando, Tokyo
Asia holds a special place in Stephanos’ heart.
I was born in the United States, grew up in Tokyo and have lived and worked in South East Asia for a big part of my life. South East Asian countries have had an enormous influence on my designs, I lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for more than a decade, the sights, sounds, smells and heart beats within each country are so different and the unique cultures are all so colorful and exciting to me and I thoroughly enjoy my time spent living there.
My handcrafted designs are very popular in many Asian cities, Stephanos pearl necklaces and pearl earrings can be found in the upscale department stores and high-end hotels, Isetan, Takashimaya, Mitsui-Sumitomo outlet, Four Seasons hotels and st. Regist hotels. These beautiful stores and hotels offer customers a sophisticated shopping experience, not just for Stephanos’ jewelry but many other up coming life-style items.
I find inspiration in my surroundings, especially from where I grew up, so I am delighted to be returning to Tokyo in a few weeks. I am really looking forward to meeting many of Stephanos first customers. Our Pop Up Shop on July 13, 2019 will be in Omotesando( Aoyama), Japan’s most high-end and trend-setting fashion district. Omotesando caters to the haute couture end of the fashion spectrum. The city itself has many cutting-edge architectural buildings that reflect much of the businesses there. There are plenty of high-end fashion brands presented in Omotesando, as well as boutiques, galleries, and cafes.
Traveling back to Tokyo for business, brings added excitement, I am looking forward to catching up with family and friends. Since moving from Kuala Lumpur to Laguna Beach, California, Tokyo often feels so far away. Social media is a great way to stay in touch, but nothing beats being there and being with friend and family.
I’d love to hear if you have been to Asia, have you traveled to any Asian countries for work or holidays, did you love the food and culture, what was your favorite thing?
